The Triune God

"May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
     This benediction from 2 Corinthians 13:14 is a clear reference to the doctrine of the Trinity.  This verse, along with a thousand other passages which demonstrate clearly, and as well by necessary implication, that the One True and Living God has revealed Himself in three persons:  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit… these Three are One God, the same in essence, and equal in power and glory!
     This core and essential doctrine is shared among all those who bear the name "Christian."  Although we may have significant disagreements with other denominations over a host of "debate-worthy" doctrines, the central category that defines a "true church" is that they affirm and teach the doctrine of the Trinity.
     Question:  Can you conceive of any possible way that a person could be "saved" apart from identifying the work of the   Triune God? 
- We baptize with a Trinitarian formula
- The ancient creeds have a Trinitarian outline
- Our catechisms both identify, distinguish, and unite the work of the Trinity ("...the Father plans, the Son provides, and the Spirit provides…"); and
- Christian prayers and benedictions extol a Triune-God!
     An important Bible conference is coming to the campus of Richland ARP next month (see flyers & website) that will "Define, Declare, and Defend" the doctrine of the Trinity.  And although, The Reformed Bible Conference sounds like it will be exclusively, "reformed," it will broadly proclaim what the historic Christian church and all of the Scriptures reveal to us about the nature, purposes, and glory of our great God and Savior.  We hope you make plans to attend and to invite your friends.
