CALENDAR(please see RichlandARP.org "Calendar & Events" tab):
ThisLord's Day marks the beginning of Advent; a time of preparation and reflection concerning the arrival of God's Anointed in his incarnation.
The Advent Wreath is a traditional symbol that illustrates, for a world waiting under the cover of sin and darkness, the fullness of God's glory coming to shine; first by prophetic announcements, but finally in the majestic person and work of the Messiah.
Each week, a new candle is lighted, focusing our attention upon the Good News. The growing light from each candle reminds us of prophetic hopes, angelic announcements, a special star, and the very Light of the world! The circular shape reminds us of God Himself: His eternal nature, His infinite mercy, and His unchangeable faithfulness to His covenant promises.
The green of the wreath speaks of the hope of new, growing, and abundant life. The four outer candles represent the four centuries of waiting between the Old Testament prophecies and their New Testament fulfillment in the sinless birth, righteous life, and resurrection promises of Christ Jesus!
