AFFIRMATIONOFFAITH:The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
WORSHIP OF GOD IN TITHES & OFFERINGS OFFERTORY(We are grateful for those who have expressed their concern to provide offerings to the church at this time. Consider these options: (1) Mail a check to the church - however, these may not be expedited for a few weeks, or (2) access the "ONLINE GIVING" tab at the top of this page. We are most sincerely needful of your prayers for the safety and health of our church congregation and community.) † DOXOLOGY
CHILDREN'S MESSAGE (Today, we are going to learn about 3 types of people who were a part of Jesus path to the cross on Mount Calvary. The first type was a criminal. The people chose to free a criminal and bind the King of Righteousness. This was wrong! A second person was named Simon. He lived in another country and was visiting Jerusalem. He was pulled out of the crowd and pressed into service -- to carry the cross of Jesus. This was helpful. A third type were a group of crying women. We don't know what to think about them. But Jesus warned them that their tears should be saved for a future day of judgment that was coming to Jerusalem. Jesus was going to the cross so that we would not have to come under God's judgment in this world, or ever! Let's thank God for providing salvation for us in Jesus Christ...)
PASTORAL PRAYER, PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION, LORD'S PRAYER
Pray for our family, church family, community, state, nation, and world -- especially the persecuted Church. Pray for ministers in the church and the government. Pray for those who are grieving, those who need healing, those who need salvation. Pray that the proclaimed word will have effect… conclude with the "Lord's Prayer."
NATIONAL EMERGENCY & TIME OF PRAYER & GOVERNOR'S MANDATE: We desire that all in our church family will continue to grow in grace and truth during this time of general quarantine. PLEASE NOTE: The Officer's of the church are seeking to comply with Governor Bill Lee's "Safer at Home" mandate. Therefore, we will continue the current practice of quarantine until April 14. A new announcement about our gatherings will be made on, or prior to this date. Please pray that all who access our website will sense our concern for them, and our commitment to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. Please pray for God's purposes to be revealed in our lives and for spiritual & physical health to be experienced in our churches, community, and nation.
TODAY BEGINS HOLY WEEK! As we celebrate Palm Sunday this Lord's Day, we look forward with anticipation to Resurrection Sunday! During this week, we intend to post "livestream" and audio messages related to the "passion week" of Jesus Christ. Please make plans for Tuesday through Friday night messages at 7PM, which will be later posted to our website: "Olivet Discourse Tuesday," "Seder Supper Wednesday," "Maundy Thursday," and "Good Friday." We pray that these services will be a blessing to our congregation and to all who access our website.
WE WELCOME YOU TODAY! On this Lord's Day, we continue our sermon series entitled, "Jesus Among the Passover." This verse-by-verse exposition of Luke, chapter 22-24, is taking us through our Holy Week celebrations to Resurrection Sunday. We pray that our contemplation and reflection on the passion of Jesus Christ will rightly inform our understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
OUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT FAMILY SUPPER is presently suspended for the duration of the quarantine. We hope to quickly inform the congregation about public gatherings when it is advisable to conduct them again!
